Severin
Filek
A graduate in "Liberal Arts and Sciences", Severin Filek has the title of "Master of Arts". In 1986, he became Secretary General of Grafik-Design Austria (designaustria). He acts as a national and international consultant on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria, the Austrian postal services and Austria Telekom. He also taught in several academies and universities in the field of design. He was the President of the Bureau of European Design Associations (BEDA) from 1998 to 2000 and co-founder and member of the Executive Council of designforum in Vienna since 2005. He has influenced the design revolution in Austria and has contributed to the development of the European policy in the field of design in highlighting the design as the essential element. Severin, who has authored numerous publications, has made good use of his communication, mediation and diplomacy skills to obtain recognition at the European level for the profession of designer.
